The iShares Global Corp Bond UCITS ETF (CRPA) is an Ireland-domiciled fixed-income ETF managed by BlackRock through its iShares platform. CRPA represents the fund's USD accumulating share class listed on the London Stock Exchange.
The fund seeks to track the Bloomberg Global Aggregate Corporate Index, a benchmark comprising investment-grade corporate bonds issued by companies across developed and emerging markets.
CRPA follows a passive investment strategy and uses physical replication through representative sampling. Its portfolio therefore holds a selection of securities designed to closely track the characteristics and performance of the benchmark without necessarily investing in every index constituent.
Composition / Exposure Profile
CRPA primarily provides exposure to:
Investment-grade corporate bonds.
Bonds issued by financial, industrial, and utility companies.
Securities denominated in different currencies.
Corporate debt across different maturities.
Issuers from developed and emerging markets.
The strategy provides exposure to a broad universe of global corporate issuers. While the United States represents a significant portion of the market, the portfolio also includes companies across Europe, Asia, and other regions.
Because the benchmark includes bonds denominated in different currencies, CRPA is also exposed to currency risk. The share class being denominated in U.S. dollars does not mean that all portfolio securities are USD-denominated or that exposure to other currencies is hedged.
Structure and Costs
The fund and CRPA share class have the U.S. dollar as their base currency. The share class is accumulating and does not use currency hedging to neutralize the portfolio's exposure to the different currencies represented in the benchmark.
The ETF has a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.20% per year, uses physical replication through representative sampling, and is domiciled in Ireland. It operates as part of iShares plc under the UCITS framework.
CRPA follows an accumulating income policy. Interest and other income generated by portfolio securities are therefore reinvested within the fund rather than periodically distributed to shareholders.
History and Evolution of the ETF
The iShares Global Corp Bond UCITS ETF USD (Acc) was launched in 2018 to provide diversified exposure to the global investment-grade corporate bond market.
Since its launch, the share class has maintained a passive strategy linked to the Bloomberg Global Aggregate Corporate Index, covering corporate issuers across different countries, sectors, and currencies.
Throughout its history, CRPA's performance has reflected factors including changes in global interest rates, credit spreads, economic conditions, monetary policies across major economies, and currency movements.
