Bank Bradesco S.A. is one of the largest financial institutions in Brazil, operating in the “other” sector within the financial segment, classified in the banking industry.
Founded by Amador Aguiar, the bank became one of the main players in the Latin American market, offering a wide range of financial services that include retail and wholesale banking, insurance, private pension plans, asset management and investment solutions.

History and Foundation of Bank Bradesco S.A.
Bank Bradesco was founded on March 10, 1943, in the city of Marília, São Paulo, by Amador Aguiar. Initially, the bank focused on serving small merchants and farmers, offering accessible financial services. Its philosophy of rapid growth and banking inclusion led Bradesco to expand quickly into various regions of Brazil.
In the 1950s, Bradesco opened its first branch in the state capital and introduced technological innovations such as using IBM machines to process banking operations. During the 1960s, the bank launched one of the first credit cards in Brazil, reinforcing its pioneering role in the financial sector.
Accelerated growth came through technological investments and strategic acquisitions. In 2016, one of the most significant events in Bradesco’s history occurred with the acquisition of HSBC Brazil in a transaction valued at R$ 16 billion.
This acquisition expanded the bank’s customer base and strengthened its presence in the high-income market.
Between 2020 and 2024, Bradesco underwent challenges and transformations. Throughout this period, the bank invested in artificial intelligence solutions and digital security, improving customer experience and reducing operational costs.
In addition, it reinforced its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy through initiatives such as carbon neutrality and the issuance of sustainable bonds (green bonds).
